He was baptised in Little Thurrock Church on 12 October 1873, the son of James and Eliza Ellingford. William James Ellingford and Annie Mulley were married in Little Thurrock on 23 December 1894. William a bachelor was aged 22 and Annie, a spinster was aged 23. Their fathers were James Ellingford and Alfred Mulley, both labourers.
