The Genealogy part of this website was created with The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding© ("TNG"). At the cost of USD 30.00, the software is a bargain!

I enter all my genealogical data on a very old version of Family Tree Maker (the newer versions of this product are, well, complete pants) which runs on my desktop PC. Then I upload the GEDCOM file that Family Tree Maker creates to TNG, which runs on my web hosting company's server, and what you are viewing is the result.

I've enhanced the basic TNG install with the following add-ons (the links take you to relevant download page for the source code)

• Today's Deaths - The listing you see on the Genealogy homepage
• Today's Births - The listing you see on the Genealogy homepage
• Today's Anniversaries - The listing you see on the Genealogy homepage
• Calendar Add-on - Shows all events on a monthly calendar
• World Maps - Show all events on a Google Map, as designed by me!
• CAPTCHA - To stop spambots sending spam on my contact pages
• TNG Gendex Search - A search link to the data held on other sites that use TNG
• Event Search Form - Event search add on
• Image Viewer - Provides for a better display of images
• Timelines - Adds detailed list of world events, plus links to wikpedia, on the Timelines page
• Reports - Originally downloaded from somewhere off the web, I've now amended and anglicised these reports.
• Google Sitemap - Helps Google and other search engines index your TNG website
• Ancestry Map - Adds a map to the Ancestors tab for an individual. This creates a map for all ancestors who have geo-coded birth, marriage and death locations
• Media RSS Feed - Although TNG comes with an RSS feed, this only seems to show updates to people rather than new media added to the site, so I've designed an RSS feed that shows the last 10 media items added to the site.
• Items Counts - Two small scripts that count and list the media in the database and count the total places and the geo-coded places in the tree
• Last Update - Display the date(s) then the family tree data was last updated
• TNG Rip Prevention - Helps stops the automated copying of data from the site
• Firstname list - Search by firstname, the TNG surname pages re-coded to display firstnames.
